Dr Hoy Used to work at health science Centre until he got let go because of all the damage he did to
patients. Now he is up on main street because it's a private place and he can do whatever he wants
for all the insurance agencies he works for it's not only MPI . I would file a complaint with the college
because he had complaints before when he was at HSC. That Dr Hoy is pure Evil. If you do see him
record him because what he says to you and what he says to insurance are two different things. The
only way you can prove it is by recording him. Best of Luck. |

Check back through the posts to about 2010 through 2013/14. I have left some information on how
I've dealt with MPI on my daughter's behalf.
Catastrophic injuries that have left her requiring 24/7 care forever! I battled for 8 or 9 years with
everything in writing; have brought forth many questions they can't answer, as well have put myself in
the driver's seat (if you will), and I have had no problems since 2014. And, we're stuck with them
forever...for as long as my daughter lives. They actually work with me now! I've never asked for or
expected miracles from them (medically or financially), and have always tried my best to
communicate rationally...(always thinking and/or staying ahead of them). But always getting
EVERYTHING in writing. No phone calls with them!
One of their legal reps wanted to discuss things over the phone...so I emailed him directly and told
him "I'm sure you could appreciate that it wouldn't be wise of me to discuss my daughter's claim
over the phone." (He's a lawyer - he knows not to discuss things over the phone - especially when
he's totally biased to MPI's side of the claim). But nice try!! He obviously didn't want to talk to me too
badly, because he didn't want to put anything in writing by emailing me. And that was okay with
me...discussion over!!
People that are really in a bind or situation, will figure it out! But, it takes patience, perseverance, and
a lot of researching (i.e. Auditor General reports, the MPI Act/Legislation and Regulations, etc.)
Don't give up...just give yourself some time away from it for a bit, and plug along...one day at a time!
Don't let their nasty letters get to you, or their phone calls (don't even allow that), take someone with
you if meeting with them in person...I can't stress enough, get everything in writing!! |

I can't believe the way mpi gets away with treating injured people. They cause more damage to
injured people with their corrupt policies. I have been fighting them for years and just recently it has
become unbearable. And there is no governing body to ensure claimants are being treated fairly.
The case adjuster assigned to the file now is horrible and the biggest liar and manipulator I've ever
seen. If anyone has any advice I'd love to hear it. I know you can't sue because it's in their legislation |

I have been fighting mpi for 12 years now. I now believe that I have a good
case to bring them to court. I will be seeing a lawyer so he can review my case
and if he thinks that we have a chance of winning I will file my statement of
claim. I do not have the money to pay a lawyer to handle the whole thing so im
asking if anyone has any ideals of what I can do to get the money or if anyone
knows of a lawyer that would do the case pro bono please let me know. post
your comments on the web site or leave me your email and I will get back to you
thanks |

I had a car stolen from me and MPI gave away
ownership without a signed bill of sale and
title!
The thief simply submitted a bill of sale saying
that he bought the car two years ago from "some
guy" and they gave him ownership without even
notifying me?
MPI needs to start being held accountable. |

My husband was hit by a car while helping a motorist out of the ditch,, and
he died on scene. He was not on the road, but the driver panicked and lost
control and hit him. He died, and AUtopac paid out 3 1/2 years his annual
wage, based on a table they created at their end. So basically, they re
saying my husband would have lived and worked only 3 1/2 more years. I
couldn't sue with this no fault thing. My husbands mother,, and grandmother
are still alive and well today. In their 70s, and 90s. So I m sure my
husband would have worked another 20 years,, and then had a good pension to
follow that. WHere does Autopac come up with this idea that his life was
worth only 3 1/2 years his annual wage? I am still a widow without a spouse
and I miss him everyday more than words can express. Part of my extended
grief is thinking in the eyes of the officials,, he basically was worth
nothing, and I wish I could do to them what has been done to me sometimes.
Then they might now what its like. I know a life is worth more than any
amount of money, but when they say "ahhh,, I think he's worth 3 1/2 times
his wage,, it pisses me off, they didn't know.. or love him like his family
did. And,, I ll add... why can't I state what my autopac premiums will be.
I don't have accidents after all... |

Hi my name is Mary And about 3 years ago I was brutally attacked
during an attempted robbery It was on the top stories of the news
what ended up happening was I was thrown into a vehicle Whereas I
was hit in the head with a hammer Which totaled eight times Twice
with a sharp end that it smashed into a million pieces like tempered
glass I was also hit in the hand twiceThat my bones popped out of
my skin and I have to get pins put in my hand and it's very difficult for
me to write let alone type So I use the Speech to textApp In order to
Have this comment Typed out Now I went through Quite a bit post-
traumatic stress disorder and such when it comes to this whole
entire ordeal it's occurred in Winnipeg Manitoba to report daylight
during rush hour traffic at around 4:30 in the afternoonEven on the
news said that I was thrown into the vehicle however when I
attempted to make a claim with MPI They said that I didn't qualify for
any type of compensation because the fact that the attack apparently
did not occur in the vehicle Which is blatantly untrue After everything
happens my attack my recovery Which has been slow and I just feel
like I can't fully recover because I'm just so traumatized I lost
everything I lost my house I lost my dogs I lost My care free spiritAnd
I feel that there's just has to be something that can be done Some
sort of I'm not sure just something to show that What I went through
Won't be ignored and cast aside because I'm a human being And This
is Canada This is the land of the free And the government is
supposed to care for the victims of crimes And MPI is a huge
corporation and because of my post-traumatic stress disorder I just
I'm afraid I just feel like I don't have the energy to fight anymore |

https://www.ratemds.com/doctor-ratings/65272/Dr-Conrad-Hoy-Winnipeg-MB.html.
When filling out authorization for MPI or any provider include the following
condition: signature is only valid on the condition that I receive full and
complete copies of all medical reports, and that they are sent to my home address at the same time they are forwarded by this doctor/provider.
With MPI you can revoke your initial authorization and send a new one with
the update.
You should request a complete copy of your claim file.
The Courts in Canada have held that people have a legal right to a copy of
any medical record that include information about their personal or health information. This right extends to medical reports produced in the course independent medical examinations. So always ask for any medical reports and copies of your medical notes-they can charge for photo copying. Patients/claimants have the legal right to secretly record medical office visit. Insurance companies have also the right to use surveillance.
Before you go and see any MPI referred provider ask to have the intake and
other forms the provider wants you to sign sent to you before the
appointment. Do not sign any liability waivers! |

Karen,
I was a passenger involved in a no fault.
The driver of the car I was in was not licenced, and even thou the crash had
nothing to do with our driving MPI ruled that the driver of the vehicle I was
in had no right to even be on the road and as such was totally liable.
Hope that helps, but this is why they have extended policies I always buy. |

Hi, my daughter was in a no fault accident. The person who hit her has claimed
sole liability. He blew through a stop sign and hit her. The problem is she only
has a learners. There was not a valid driver with her at the time. MPI will not
cover the damage. It was a brand new car insured to the top. Has anybody else
been in this situation before? She's considering appealing the decision. Any
advice?
Thanks |

Susan,
I was sent by MPI to this so called Dr. Hoy. Be very careful! This guy has set
himself up to get paid well from MPI to ensure no matter if folks are well or
not that they will ALL be ok to return to work after his program!
This is not the only facility MPI uses and they are all the same however HOY is
the worst of them all!
Check this guy out, go to MB Collage of surgeons & Physicians make sure he is a
Doctor! Also watch what you sign! He will act as your friend but he is anything
but! MPI will pay for a cab to and fro so if this is a issue use there program
for your transport, why use up your cars maintenance and god forbid you'd have
a accident on the way.
Watch for hidden cameras in the ceiling there perhaps elsewhere too, ask to see
his licence not a old photo copy it is your right to know who you are dealing
with when it comes to your health and MPI cannot deny you benefits if he
doesn't provide legal documentation.
I went for 2-3 weeks, went back to MY physician and told him it was too much
for me and he agreed. He gave me a note I was to stop the program, and I took
it to them with a paper stating they could no longer correspond anything about
my case to anyone as of that date!
MPI didn't much like it and I did end up at another facility with the same
agenda.
In the end it is what YOUR doctor says that is important and MPI only pays so
many chiro or physio visits and once that's done unless you have private
insurance for more treatments then see anyone other than Hoy for a real
assessments / treatments. Good luck |

Hello,
Please, can anyone recommend a good occupational therapist out there that does not work for MPI.
I'm dealing with MPI bullying and pressuring(me back to work) and threatening me if i did not use their
people (which is a 45 minute drive from my house Dr Hoy) that my Income Replacement will be
suspended.
I want to thank the person that does this blog, as has been very helpful for me going through such stress
with dealing with MPI.
Thanks for your time. |

Hey man.. how did ur show cause hearing
go? Suspension and Drivers safety course
i suspect? That is what i received after
they called me in for 3 incidents within
3 years. (Third one that put me over was
hitting a frost boil which counted as an
at fault accident for 5 points) This was
4 1/2 years ago. Now... holy crap.. i was
charged with racing which i WAS NOT.. i
did not even accelerate beyond 50 km/hr
or show any intent to race the other
driver that flew by me. They impounded my
car took my license which in not even
sure i can get back now after 7 days. I
mean this is a BS (and incredibly
serious) charge as i am not so stupid as
to race on the main street of my home
town on a saturday night(esp after being
suspended in the past) Now even if i can
get the charge lessened it will be a huge
headache as it is costing me thousands of
dollars for something that should have
been an imprudent driving ticket at the
most. My show cause hearing is in a week.
But i dont have a ton of faith that it
will go well as mpi can simply do
whatever they want in the name of road
safety even without a conviction. I gotta
say i am very stressed out about this
whole deal. May even cause enough
financial strain to push us over the edge
to bankruptcy. Have already paid impound
fees and lawyer. Lol but like i said
lawyer says.. they are outside the law on
this and can do what they want. And..
yeah lol we have no other provider of
insurance to choose from... |

@ James
I've seen a few of those stories come up here with MPI. Hit and run doesn't seem to be recognized
and they will more than likely continue to have that attitude unless you have a video of the incident.
The problem is, the ratepayer/claimant needs to hold them accountable and turn it onto them to
prove your claim isn't legit and that you're lying. Have them provide the video that you did the
damage yourself. MPI is all about your word against theirs...he said, she said...blah, blah, blah! |
|
James | May 4, 2017 1:33:05 PM |
I apologize if this doesn't meet the intent of your blog, however I'm a victim of MPI and need to post
my story.
Last year I returned to where my vehicle had been parked and discovered damage, I called MPI to
schedule an appointment for an estimate and I was already upset that because whoever did this left
the scene and I would be on the hook for my deductible, what followed next could only be described
as infuriating!
I was told that because it was a hit and run I had to make a police report before I could continue with
my claim, so I did. When I arrived for my appointment the adjuster looked under my bumper and
because there was a small, I mean insignificant scrape, this meant and I quote,"you hit something". I
was immediately taken aback, I insisted that he was wrong and I would not accept his opinion. The
next level to the dispute was a outside expert to evaluate the damage, which to be perfectly honest I
was not thrilled about, as a sceptic I imagine there would be no work for this "expert" if he continually
found for the insuree, I'm sure his services would not be used much? Also this expert has a history
of crash investigation for a police service, I wonder how often he was called on to investigate a minor
fender bender.
Needless to say, he found in favour of MPI, so my next step was to offer my vehicle crash data which
I did after my own research into proving my innocence. They downloaded the data and nothing had
been registered, to me this meant the vehicle was not running at the time, to them this was not the
case, just meant I was driving and it wasn't enough to register. The bumper was folded in half and
pushed in enough to dent the fender in addition bending and popping the rivets out of the fender
well.
Their decision is that the damage is significant enough that I would have felt and heard it so, the
only conclusion is "I'm lying". In my business this is called confirmation bias, because they've seen
this before they are excluding any other possibilities.
I offered to take a polygraph and they keep ignoring this, they don't even acknowledge it when I say
it, like they don't want to know I'm not lying.
I want a choice on who to buy insurance from, I would not normally give my hard earned money to a
business who over the course of nearly a year repeatedly calls me a liar.
Anyone else with a similar story? |

I was always working overtime as a local Truck driver, I got rear ended in a
70 km/h zone while sitting in a line up traffic on my way home from work in my
little car. I got injured and wage replacement calculation took my 9500
dollars off overtime I had made in the last 52 weeks completely off to
calculate my biweekly entitlement, and this just because my supervisor had
told them they where not doing any overtime after my accident. So that gets me
about 400 dollars biweekly short. What a fail |

Brian | April 22, 2017 5:36:29 PM |
I had my first court date with MPI last week for my ATV that was stolen over a
year ago. MPI had 3 staff plus a lawyer from Winnipeg present. with the letters
sent to me and wages I would say cost MPI about $2000 for that day and now have
to do it all over as there lawyer screwed up. Appears the forced arbitration is
only for damage they were going to cover not the whole claim lol. I have
evidence that the mpi adjuster outright lied when adjusting my ATV. His picture
and caption read oil in engine was very clean. The Polaris dealer ship wrote on
there engine report that the oil was very dirty and should be changed. Is that
a smoking gun or what. Goes to show how they lie to try and not pay on a claim.
If they want to get rid of some excess baggage at the Brandon office I sure got
some suggestion who to fire.
Really like to hear some views on this before my next court date. MPI will have
spent 3 times what my ATV is worth fight this in court. This is our crown
corporation at work. |

Wow, I see no comments in awhile so I'll put this out.
My Doctors wife has worked for MPI 23 years so is up in status.
She was called into her Managers office 2 weeks ago and was told she needs to
submit 2 names for dismissal before the end of the day!
These are folks she's worked with for over a decade!
No matter, the Pallister Gov wants cuts in every dept, and so 2 un-knowing
employees were escorted by security personal belongings in hand out off the
grounds! WOW!
Guess getting help from MPI just got a bit harder in that dept who knows how
many were cut in the others.
This Government promised not to cut front line services etc right!?
Health care and Hydro are also getting the cuts our premier promised not to
cut, guess those quite days in Coasta Rica has him re-thinking our
priorities! |

You may be entitled to sue your case manager http://tombrownskwcb.tripod.com/wcbyourrighttosue/
A WCB case but same guidelines.
Also a tip-everytime MPI asks you for a medical update or forms to be filled
out-comply-but ask for copies an updates of your claim file too.
Also wondering if anyone has filed under FIPPA for requests on what each of
their medical consultants are paid by year from MPI ( Such as Dr. Hoy)
Best of luck to all-and always record all conversations and correspond by
email only or fax |

Just came across this and had to share. What MPI really stands for: MANDATORY
PATHETIC INSURANCE. After almost a year there lawyer made me an over to settle,
after serving court papers to mpi, what a joke, $12,000 on a truck with a book
value of $25,000 and $4,000 for my ATV that I paid $9,000 for 10 months before
it was stolen. What a bunch of crooks. |

Just wondering. I have a show cause hearing on
Tuesday, and I just wanted to know if anyone
could tell me what types of question I should
expect, how many people will attend this
meeting?, should I bring a lawyer or
paralegal, etc. I have this hearing due to
multiple speeding infractions within a short
period of time |
