MPI are Criminals | December 30, 2020 2:06:38 PM |
Anyone else get the feeling that their adjuster, special investigator and
anyone else involved like locksmiths may be 'in bed' together? Contact me at
mpicriminals@gmail.com
I was reading an article a few months ago that says MPI has caught 3x as
much fraud this year, and only due to 'increased scrutiny'. Now, I'm
assuming that 'increased scrutiny' actually means bad faith investigations
by locksmiths and collusion between the investigator and adjuster to get
innocent victims claims denied, costing innocent people thousands of dollars
and removing their ability to live their lives properly in the middle of a
pandemic year.
I did some investigating and found out that my Adjuster Jeff Gnoinski is
married to Jennifer Locke, a special investigator at MPI. I also noticed
that my special investigator is named Carrie Locke. Coincidence?
And when it comes to the 'investigation' that the locksmith did (Thanks
Noble locksmith, you criminal goofs) I HAVE to assume it was done in bad
faith. I had never seen a car ignition lock or switch before this, and
within 30 seconds of looking at the mechanism I was able to start it with a
3/8ths socket or a flathead screwdriver. 30 seconds, no joke.
Having workers who are contracted by MPI determining if MPI is liable to pay
claims seems like a conflict of interest. So does having people who sleep
together colluding to get their bonuses for denying claims.
These people think they're untouchable. I think it's high time they get
touched.
If anyone looking to get together for a class action lawsuit wants to reach
out to me, you can contact me at mpicriminals@gmail.com.
I'm currently in the hole about $15,000 over this claim. If I didn't pay
insurance and didn't have to deal with MPI it would be about
$250-$1000.Thieves had my car 1 day. MPI had it over 90 days. I already
replaced the broken glass myself for $60 and rebuilt everything that was
taken apart in a single day. What is MPI good for, really? |

Thank you for posting that article James. It was an interesting outcome that
can give others hope, and not the only case of MPI abusing power and making up
reasons to terminate benefits prematurely without evidence. I hope they learn
a lesson and change the way they deal with people. That's not likely, but
possible. |

If anyone knows of a lawyer who would take a case against mpi relating to a
denied stolen vehicle claim, please contact me at mpicriminals@gmail.com.
I noticed a lot of people left messages saying to contact them but didn't
leave any contact info. |

Former Manitoba woman gets $350K after judge finds MPI acted in bad faith. Too bad it took 22 years for the

Hi MaryAnn,
I totally agree to communicate with MPI through email ONLY. It will be
easier to disclose the correspondence as evidence when having the battle in
Court.
I also had to read through the ACT, Legislation and Regulations to find out
what an insured entitled to.
Same as you, I learned a lot about Gov't through the years and experiences.
In my case, the Minister and the Manitoba Ombudsman did not provide
assistance but asked me to "let it go". Even worse, they keep on saying
that MPI is a honest Crown corporation and won't tell lies.
No matter it it is a physical damage claim or a injury claim, don't forget
to take photos too. The photographic evidence is very useful and saving
time to describe the issues in words when having the battle in Court.
If you have time, please read Bill 15 (MPI Claim Tribunal). MPI will get
more controls and the insured will be restricted to settle the dispute in
the Tribunal rather than in the Court of Queen's Bench. |

Fortunately vehicles are replaceable. Unfortunately, Lives are not. My daughter was a backseat passenger
and catastrophically injured on the TransCanada hwy. In a coma and vegetative state for 3 months and in
hospital for 17 months. Not sure how she survived, but suffers everyday from life-long injuries. I had to battle
and fight MPI for 9 years advocating in her best interest. They cut her off within about a month of her claim
while she lay in the hospital fighting for her life and needing splints for her hands and elbows. I put myself in
her shoes and as a Mother, became very protective. I didn't trust them right off the bat, and dug my heals in
and challenged them everyday. I only communicated with MPI through email...everything in writing. I was
ready to battle in court and show the country how PUBLIC insurance treats the injured. I had to read through
the ACT, Legislation and Regulations to find out what she was entitled to. Anyways, I learned a lot about Gov't
through the years and experiences. Outright lies (in writing), and had to write directly to their consultants
(Dr.'s of their Health Care Team), I wrote to Marilyn McLaren (CEO at the time), Minister of Justice and
Attorney General (Andrew Swan at the time), wrote to their legal team and challenged them in every way I
could. |

Very cool site. I hope that with more awareness around issues like these, we
can put a nail in the coffin of the tax dollar sucking corporation they call
MPI.
Anyhow, I have an issue where MPI wants to cash settle on some items that
were damaged during an accident. They are not willing to pay for the set of
items, only the individual, even though I will have to purchase them again
as a set.
I have reached the end of the line with what I can do with them, they have
stopped all contact with me at this point. Whats my next step? Small claims?
If so can someone help me with the filing details? I have contacted a few
lawyers, most weren't able to help me, and some others have not got back to
me.
Thanks in advance. I will post all the details after the claim is settled, I
don't want this to be ammo for them against me. |

Lisa sorry to hear about your bad experience. I had my truck and atv stolen
almost 5 years ago. won atv in small claims still fighting over the truck. I
would suggest contacting an arbitrator to help you. I am using Chris Ruel at
autotrax. Just my 2cents worth. You can also talk to the ombudsman, my claim
is registered with them, maybe that might help. Good Luck and hope it works
out. |

My 16 month old Chevy Sonic was written off by MPI. I had a minor accident and
drove the car for three weeks - it was not even out of alignment. It took them
took weeks to give me an estimate of $7000 for the body work but the garage was
told to "dig deeper" by MPI (their words). After SIX estimates refused by MPI
the dealer came back with a $15,000 price claiming the frame was bent. The air
bags were not even triggered to deploy. This was likely a manufacturers defect
but MPI wrote my car off when I had a $25000 loan on it. I bought the car back
and got it repairs for $6500 but so much damage was done by the tear down -
pieces are still missing, the air condition was permanently destroyed and I was
forced to lease another car while mine waited repair. I took MPI to Small
Claims and was fined $500. Today, MPI claims I lied about a hit and run (my car
was scratched at Food Bank as I was volunteering) and is coming after me at the
request of their chief $%!# Mark Geisbrecht. He makes a quarter million a
year. He makes sure that even though are car prices have increased 400% over
the last five years that the amount paid on claims has gone up $500. $3500 is
the average claim paid by MPI who is selling our cars at auction for far greater
profit. The cost of insuring my car which is now rebuilt so worthless, and
warranty is cancelled even though there was 50,000 kilo on car, is the same as
before the accident. Mark is getting rich, MPI is getting rich and the system
is rigged. Now we pay GAP INSURANCE so if you new car is in an accident you can
maybe keep it. The cost of insuring my car in ONTARIO IS $77.00 a month but
$140.00 in MB. MPI puts $%!# on their site to make up believe otherwise. |

@Ryan,
I'm not positive on the figure they use. When my daughter was in her accident, I'm pretty sure it was based on
minimum wage, then calculated for the year, then they deduct E.I. and I.T. Then, I believe, it's 90% of that
figure. Request a breakdown of your I.R.I. from your case manager. |
|
Ryan | October 14, 2020 1:28:46 PM |
Does anyone know what is needed for I.R.I s? Or what formula they use to figure it out. Ieverytime I
submit what they ask for, they ask for more. They have T4s and Tax assessments and bank records,
my last paystub, Now they want Tax records from the year after the accident. Does anyone know the
statute on IRI s? |

Anita, MPI changed a lot in its business
style in last 2 to 3 years. Now, MPI is
running more like a private insurance
company but carrying a Crown Corporation
title to monopolize the Auto Insurance
industry in Manitoba.
In your case, it is because MPI has
partnered with most of the repair shop in
Manitoba, named as Accredited Repair Shop,
with business agreement.
In other words, MPI and the Accredited
Shop are on the same side to take
advantage on their customers, the insured.
Simply speaking, whether a damaged vehicle
becomes written off is easy to be
controlled by MPI now.
Say, if the damaged vehicle is also
covered by New Car Protection Extension
Insurance, Shops will underestimate the
damages to get an "Authorization to
Repair" from the insured to begin repairs.
After the repairs started, more damage
would be found to increase the cost of
repairs to maximize the profits.
Once the estimated repair cost reached the
upper ceiling, the new findings of the
related damage will be ignored.
Otherwise, the damaged vehicle will become
written off and the Shop will loss the
repair benefits. On MPI side, they also
don't want the repair cost going too high
and make the vehicle becomes written off.
Otherwise, MPI has to pay for the extra
coverage for the New Car Protection
insurance.
You may see that MPI and the Shops can
control the estimate to maximize their own
benefits. Now, the insured is suffering
in this kind of insurance fraud/scam.
As it is a MPI claim, consumer protection
department cannot involve to take
investigation.
Back to your question, if you raise
complaint to MPI, MPI would ask you to
deal with the shop directly because they
are only an insurance company to pay for
the claim of coverage under a contract of
insurance.
If you raise complaint to the Shop the
shop will ask you to talk to MPI yourself
because they only repair the vehicle based
on MPI approval.
You can imagine what is going on. They
will cooperate to take advantage on the
insured and ignore to serve the insured at
the same time.
If both parties still ignored you, please
let me know. I may assist you to deal
with them. |

Hi there,
Any idea why MPI would tow my car that needs to be repaired to the auto shop of my choice & inform them
there's a hold on it, without telling me anything about it for over a week? I phoned and left a message with my
adjuster to get back to me on what's going on, no response. It's been on "hold" at the auto shop for a week
now. |

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any
information on being able to help me. I
have been on long term income replacement
since 2009 ish. I got addicted to crystal
meth and was shooting up. I guess I
didn't fill out paperwork or even get
back to there requests on time and was
suspended payments. And then was putt in
jail. A week after there deadline.
Obviously I had no idea what I was doing
.I got out of jail and went to rehab and
completed it. And am actively staying
sober and involved in the 12 step
program. And have an afm councilor. Is
there even an argument there? That I was
insane shooting up meth and didn't even
know what was going on. Like would it be
worth sending my afm completion form in
and get an afm person writing a letter
saying I have a disease of addiction.
Does mpi look at addiction as a disease
and recognize it as I was not even able
to make descions for myself. But I'm
sober now and trying to get my life
together. Any feed back would be much
appreciated. |

Hi Brad,
Yes, I'm interested in the class action too. I have several claims on hand.
For what allegation is your class action?
We may share the information in private if you want.
Thanks |

Pauline: I'm not giving any legal advice but only share my understanding in my best knowledge. I read the MPIC Act, HTA, The Drivers and Vehicles Act and Manitoba Evidence Act quite often as I am now fighting with my insurer (I don't want to say its name).
If you reported "vehicle stolen" to police with statutory declaration (statement) and opened a case file with case file number, your insurer cannot use "implied consent" to override your police report and deny the liability.
If the insurer deny the liability, the insurer has to provide evidence to prove that the statutory statement in the police report is incorrect.
In other words, your insurer has to provide legal evidence (with no reasonable doubt) to prove that the statement in the police report is not true.
Just saying "implied consent" unilaterally by the insurer to deny a claim is explicitly bluffing.
In my experience, "implied xxx" is a typical trick being used by the insurer to stop you fighting with them. For example, even you did not sign the "Authorization to repair" on the FRA. The claim file would still show "implied repair", or "implicit repair".
I'm fighting with my insurer in different claims non-stop last 3 years.
Of note, in my experience, I found that raising complaints to Fair Practice, Ombudsman, Minister, and Public Utilities Board won't help. Even I pinpointed which section of relevant legislation that my insurer violated in my complaints, it will still be ignored and caused further delays to settle a claim. Small Claim Court would be a most efficient way. Don't forget that the insured may bring the claim to court to get a final say within 2 year. 2-year is a legal time period since the date of reporting the claim.
You may seek legal advice from legal counsel or try to read the Acts yourself.
I am happy to share my experience with you and other victims. |

I would have the police arrest and charge this dirty scoundrel that stole your vehicle ! It would
be pretty hard for MPI to deny your vehicle was stolen if the police lock them up, that way MPI
could also sue them for all the inconvenience and damages they caused to your vehicle, it
could be an awkward situation though if the "thief" who you also allowed to drive the vehicle
before is also a member of your household or someone that is close to you. |
|
Pauline | May 7, 2020 12:11:30 PM |
I have not had a personal injury however I am looking for some input as to
where I can go for help with a stolen vehicle claim. MPI is telling me that
they don't consider the vehicle stolen because the person who took had been
allowed to drive it the day before; they are calling it "implied consent".
The person who stole the vehicle was told they absolutely could not use it
and then in the middle of the night took the keys and the vehicle...this was
Feb 2/20...I have had no resolution on this matter and just received word on
May 5/20 that the vehicle had been recovered in Kenora...it has been sitting
in an impound lot since Feb 20/20 and has incurred $4,000 in impound fees.
Now I am waiting for MPI to make a final decision. If they go with their
first assessment of "implied consent" I will be on the hook for the impound
fees and getting my vehicle back to Manitoba. WTF do we pay insurance for???
Can anyone help me? |

Hi Dustin, Yes MPI are crooks, I had my truck stolen over 4 years ago and am
still fighting. Spent 3 days in court were Judge found my tranny, transfer case
and air bag light are covered from the theft. Judge put it back to arbitration.
What a crook of $%!# MPI has spent 1,000's of dollar fighting this. Lawyer
coming to Brandon from Winnipeg countless times. stacks of papers. I filed a
claim for freedoms of information with ombudsman to try and find how much MPI
spent and after a six month investigation they came up with nothing. I have sent
the premier office emails and minister for MPI. Really something that they can
be allowed to treat people like criminals. I paid insurance for over 40 years no
claims, clean drivers abstract and was an insurance broker for 13 years selling
MPI products and now MPI can lie and do whatever they want. I proved in court
that a MPI employee outright lied to me and the lawyer had to issue an apology.
People have to stand up to these crooks. Good luck. |

Tax money going when we have a team of people

probably exceed the price of the truck in I'm
requesting for someone to listen to how
unprofessional and trailer trash there
employees are . And please next time slot the
gum out of your mouth when your talking to

They paid me $700 for my tires, which I
guess I was suppose to give back !? How
that makes sence is beyond me , now there
saying I owe them $959.90
While they have my tires .
I think MpI is a huge scam ! |

Hello,
I am a temporary worker here on a work permit. I just learned (from my friends)
that my foreign driver's license was destroyed when I surrendered it before the
road test. Is it true?! No one told me it was going to be destroyed! They only
told me that I have to "surrender" it before the road test. What the heck will I
do once I go back to my country?? Reapply for a driver's license??
Why on earth do they destroy a document issued by a different country?
Is it even legal? |

Was anyone here affected by the change over from Credit card payments to auto debit? Got pulled

did not switch my payments over. Curious to know if anyone else was affected by this. |
